Interview questions

Molly and I wrote up the questions for the interview in class today. We did give this job to Justyna however we had not received them after contacting her numerous times. Subsequently we had to write them ourselves. This made me feel a bit stressed since we had other bits of work that we had to do and it would have been nice to split our duties. Also it made us look a bit unprofessional since the Dome had asked us to send them the questions many times and I was unable to send them back.

Questions (volunteers):

Start by introducing yourself:

When did you volunteer for Brighton festival?
“I volunteered for Brighton festival….”

What was your role?
“I worked as…”

  • What did this entail?
  • What locations were you working?
  • Who did you get to work with?
  • What where your favourite memories?
  • Did you make friends being a volunteer?
  • What opportunities did it give you?
  • What did you learn from being a volunteer?
  • Would you do it again?
  • How was it working with the Brighton community?
  • What are your views on working in Brighton/ with the Brighton community?
  • What would you tell someone who has never considered volunteering?
  • If you have any stories/fun memories of something that happened whilst being a volunteer!
Say to camera:
“We can’t have Brighton Festival without you!”
“Be part of something”

Questions (staff):

Give a quick introduction to the festival:

What it’s about?
Who would enjoy it?
Why should people come?

  • What opportunities can people get by becoming a volunteer with Brighton festival?
  • Why should someone volunteer?
  • What can people get from volunteering with Brighton Festival, which they wouldn’t get from another?
  • How is Brighton festival unique?
  • How have volunteers benefited from taking part in the past?
  • What would you tell someone who has never considered volunteering?
I also requested to film inside the Concert Hall and the Corn Exchange following the information Molly gave from the tour.
